• Malic Acid is a natural extract from apples and is one of the substances that a cell uses to convert carbohydrates into energy.  Problems in cell energy production and utilisation can arise when there is a deficiency in malic acid as it is part of the cell energy cycle called the Citric Acid or Krebb's Cycle.  It can help to enhance and stimulate cellular activity by supporting the Citric Acid Cycle and also can help to prevent build-up of toxic by-porducts that result from inefficient cell metabolism.
• Magnesium (Aspartate) is elemental magnesium bound to the amino acid aspartic acid.  Aspartic acid is part of the Citric Acid Cycle of cell energy production.  Magnesium is an important mineral in the production of cellular energy and it also supports the function of the Citric Acid Cycle.  Since magnesium helps with muscle function, having a deficiency in it is a major cause of muscle pain and cramping.
