Clinicians Xylitol Nasal Spray is suitable for use in all ages, including children and infants.

Upper Respiratory Tract Infections, Colds and Influenza are all associated with an increase in the number or bacteria and other unwanted organisms in the nasal passages.

Xylitol Nasal Spray helps to reduce the bacterial load by acting on the outer surfaces of the bacterial organism and reducing their ability to adhere to the mucous membranes. This helps to keep the bacteria unattached and free enabling the bacteria to be washed away. It is important to clear the nose and allow drainage to occur regularly to help remove unwanted bacteria. Studies from Europe indicate that a 5% Xylitol solution may prevent the attachment of at least 50% of harmful bacteria to the nasal surfaces.

Xylitol has also been used to help prevent middle ear infections in young children. In Finland and other countries it is an accepted means of preventing Otitis media in day centres. By reducing the adherence of bacterial organisms in the ear, it helps to reduce infection. Xylitol has also been reported to have an effect of inhibiting the growth of alpha-haemolytic streptococci, including Streptococcus pneumoniae - bacterial organisms associated with middle ear infections.

Directions:

Adults - Recommended dosage is 1 to 2 sprays into each nostril 3 times daily until symptoms improve. Nose should be cleared by gently blowing 5 - 10 minutes after each dose.

Children 6 and under - Apply 1 spray into each nostril 3-4 times daily until symptoms improve. The Nose should be cleared by gentle blowing 5 to 10 minutes after each dose to aid the removal of unwanted bacteria.

Infants - Spray 1 puff into the cap and apply one drop into each nostril 3-4 times daily until symptoms improve.

• Citric acid, sodium citrate, and potassium sorbate
• No added gluten, dairy, sugar, yeast, artificial colours, sweeteners, or flavours
