NFS 5-HTP Capsules contain 5-HTP which is made from the extract of seeds of an African plant called Griffonia Simplicifolia. It helps to:

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter produced naturally by the body from the essential amino acids L-Tryptophan and 5-HTP with 5-HTP being the active intermediate step between the L-Tryptophan and the production of serotonin. Serotonin cannot pass the brain barrier so only the serotonin that is produced in the brain can be used in the brain. 5-HTP is penetrated into the blood stream, and can easily cross the blood brain barrier, unlike L-Tryptophan which requires a transport molecule and can then be inhibited by stress and lack of vitamin B6. So when the levels of 5-HTP are increased, the production of serotonin is also increased.
